Respecting nature, which we all make part of, will be our great achievement in the future.
We must understand it and integrate it into our everyday life. The bathroom, as the first area we enter into when starting the day and and as the scenery for the end of the day, must evoke those concerns.
I imagine a quiet space that generates a peaceful state of mind. A place where green combines with the colours of the skin. Where light can change along with the day. With the aroma of flowers perfuming the air. Where the water can be heard coming up the tubes and melodically falls into the basin.
This project was born from a 220 mm grid and all the objects grew from this layout. The top surface of all equipments has a soft curved shape, suggesting the persistent movement made of water along time. Metaphorically, nature overlaps and adapts to Man’s work.
The idea was to create a space where you can plant and feel part of this universe.
All water used in the bathroom is reused to irrigate the plants. The tiles, that contain the plants or small stones, like river pebbles, carry the water to a tank. This tank is located in an underground layer and serves pre-filtered water to all the living beings in this space.
The shower is hold by four steel cables, leaving the central part suspended, like a cloud that produces hot water rain.
The vertical metal tubes are references to trees and the mysterious atmosphere created inside a forest.
